A few questions.
According to Supe McGoldrick's comments at yesterdays meeting, there are a number of meetings planned. Can you publish a list. Are these going to be public meetings open to other Health Care professionals even if not employed by St Lukes. Will they be open to the general public, particularly those most impacted. Will they be recorded/televised so any interested parties can view proceedings. Thankyou.
Patrick Monk.RN. Noe Valley.
Dear Patrick,
CPMC is supposed to put all of these meeting time, places, etc on line at a particular place. We were told yesterday at the first Blue Ribbon Panel meeting to go to www.cpmcbeyondmedicine.com
to look for the link.
There are both public general meetings, and targeted group meetings. Employees of St. Luke were invited 8 AM and 3 PM last Wednesday to meetings at St. Luke's, for instance. A lot of the plans are unfolding bit by bit so I do not personally have a list to share.
Hope that helps,
Thomas,
Thanks for info, link is good,
Registering is simple.
Will explore in depth later but a couple of immediate comments:-
1) Seems to be strongly anti any Union activity.
2) Notice one of conveners is Mitch Katz. Sure this does not come as a surprise to you but would caution against accepting at face value any info he gives. St Lukes closure is a small part of larger problem of long standing denial of adequate health care. One of the major issues in our ongoing struggle to preserve the community of BayView Hunters Point from the threats posed by RDA and Lennar is the negative health impacts created by construction activity, Dr Katz has regularly given mis- or dis-information in public testimony on this and other matters.
